The WHO and Guilan University of Medical Sciences (GUMS) organize an international external competency assessment course.

 

 
 
The World Health Organization (WHO) and Guilan University of Medical Sciences (GUMS) have organized an international external competency assessment course of malaria microscopy.

The course was organized at East Guilan School of Paramedical Sciences of GUMS in the city of Langeroud from May 9 to 15.

The instructor and the assessor of the course was Dr. Keneth Lilley, the WHO lead facilitator and a level 1 malaria microscopist.

There were 12 participants form Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman in the course. They received training on theoretical and practical issues pertaining to malaria microscopy.

The course was the fifth ECA course in the EMRO region which was organized by the WHO and GUMS.
