Iran’s minister of health has inaugurated five health development projects in Guilan Province.

 

Iran’s Minister of Health Seyyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi has inaugurated five health development projects in Guilan Province.

 
The five health development projects were inaugurated by Dr. Ghazizadeh Hashemi during a visit of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and his accompanying delegation to Guilan Province earlier this month.

The health development projects have provided as many as 821 people with job.

Presenting the projects, Chancellor of Guilan University of Medical Sciences (GUMS), Professor Shahroukh Yousefzadeh-Chabok, said that Astara Hospital, which is a 100-bed hospital with a floor area (building) of 12995 square meters, is equipped with different departments including pediatric, OB/GYN, ICU, CCU, NICU, emergency, radiology, pharmacy and dialysis.

He further noted that Rezvanshahr Hospital, which is a 32-bed hospital with a floor area of 2778 square meters, is equipped with pediatric, OB/GYN, ICU, CCU, NICU, emergency, radiology, pharmacy and dialysis and provides 70 people with job.

Professor Yousefzadeh-Chabok then referred to Pars Hospital, a 189-bed hospital in the city of Rasht, saying that the hospital is equipped with different wards including emergency, dialysis, endoscopy, radiology, lab, OB/GYN, obstetric, infants, general operating room, heart surgery, angiography, physiotherapy, neurology, neurosurgery, urology and chemotherapy. He added that the hospital has a floor area of 26000 square meters, and it has created 680 jobs.

Gastrointestinal and liver subspecialty clinic with a floor area of 3000 square meters and with different wards including radiology, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endosonography, and sonography was the fourth development project which was present by the chancellor of GUMS.

He added the construction of the clinic started three years ago and the project has created 50 jobs.

The chancellor of the university also presented the 16 slice department of Shahid Beheshti Hospital as one of the development projects in the province. He pointed out that the projects have added 318 beds to the number of beds in the hospitals in the province.

He stressed that the roadmap and the vision of Guilan University of Medical Sciences were designed in the beginning of the year 1395 and over the past year, the “development train” has been pressing ahead with an ever-increasing pace in the university.

He also promised that the year 1396 would be certainly one of the best years for the development of health and treatment services. He added that with the great thoughts of the health minister on providing and maintaining health in the country, constructive measures will be taken to provide health services not only for the people in Guilan but also in neighboring provinces and the Caspian Sea littoral countries.
